ELECTRIC AUDIO RECORDING CAMP

On April 9-11, First Dimension Records is hosting a recording clinic for high school students aspiring to a career in music production. Electric Audio Recording Camp will be held at Millersville University’s recording studio in Jefferson Hall.

Attendees at the camp will receive training in both recording and music business.  Sessions will cover: microphone placement, essential Pro Tools commands, mixing techniques, basic mastering, writing press releases, mass marketing, touring strategies, and inner workings of record labels. Each seminar will be run by music business students, music business professors, and guest speakers.

First Dimension Records began in 2004 by Music Business and Technologies students.  The group manages an entirely student-run non-profit record label.  Music Business students in First Dimension Records will provide lectures at the camp along with Millersville University faculty members.  Special guest Steven LaFashia from Philadelphia band Jealousy Curve will discuss his recording techniques and provide touring tips.

Admission for the entire weekend is $100.  The ticket includes a van trip to the renowned Clair Brothers Audio company in Manheim, Saturday and Sunday lunches, and a camp t-shirt.  Also, as a special giveaway, everyone will take home the notable recording textbook; “Recording Great Audio Tracks in a Small Studio” by Bill Gibson. Permission forms must be postmarked by March 26th.
